Finite Aperture Stereo

چکیده
Abstract Multi-view stereo remains a popular choice when recovering 3D geometry, despite performance varying dramatically according to the scene content. Moreover, typical pinhole camera assumptions fail in presence of shallow depth field inherent macro-scale scenes; limiting application larger scenes with diffuse reflectance. However, defocus blur can itself be considered useful reconstruction cue, particularly view-dependent materials. With this mind, we explore complimentary nature and cues context multi-view reconstruction; propose complete pipeline for modelling from finite aperature that encompasses image formation, calibration stages. As part our evaluation, an ablation study reveals how each cue contributes higher observed over range complex materials geometries. Though lesser concern large apertures, effects noise are also considered. By introducing pre-trained deep feature extraction into cost function, show step improvement per-pixel comparisons; as well verify cross-domain applicability networks using largely in-focus training data applied defocused images. Finally, compare number modern methods, demonstrate use both leads significant increase across several synthetic real datasets.

Solves the Stereo Aperture Problem
If a bar stimulus extends beyond a cell's receptive field, then alterations in binocular disparity parallel to the bar's orientation leave the portion of the stimulus within the cell's receptive field unchanged. This makes it hard for the cell to respond correctly to the bar's disparity. Likening the cell's receptive field to an aperture through which the cell views the world, this issue has be...

The transmission characteristics of wire grid polarizers fabricated in finite apertures are investigated by using a three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain formulation. Specifically, the optical transmissivity and extinction ratio are characterized for a wide variety of geometrical parameters including aperture size in both dimensions, conducting wire fill factor, and polarizer thicknes...
متن کامل3D Reconstruction from Finite-Aperture Lenses
In this report we investigate the problem of reconstructing 3D scene geometry from images acquired from a stationary camera with a controllable finite-aperture lens. We review the relevant literature in computer vision and optics, present some new insights into the problem [21], and suggest directions for future research.
متن کاملGeneral Linear Cameras with Finite Aperture
A pinhole camera selects a two-dimensional set of rays from the four-dimensional light field. Pinhole cameras are a type of general linear camera, defined as planar 2D slices of the 4D light field. Cameras with finite apertures can be considered as the summation of a collection of pinhole cameras. In the limit they evaluate a two-dimensional integral of the four-dimensional light field. Hence a...
